- Job Creation and Workforce Development: Legislation to create workforce development programs specifically for formerly incarcerated individuals, focusing on skill development, education, and entrepreneurship. This will help reduce recidivism and provide a path to economic stability.
- Economic Competitiveness: Encouraging innovation and productivity by investing in programs that upskill workers, enhance job satisfaction, and improve overall social welfare. This also includes promoting innovative transportation solutions like a high-speed rail line to boost economic growth and reduce carbon emissions.
2. Healthcare for All
Pamela advocates for universal healthcare access, ensuring every Tennessean receives quality medical care.
This includes:
- Mental Health Investment: Expanding mental health resources, particularly in underserved communities, and integrating mental health services into primary care.
- Rehabilitation over Incarceration: Legislation focused on treatment and support for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders, diverting them from the criminal justice system into appropriate care.
3. Food Security and Local Agriculture
Pamela plans to eliminate food deserts in Tennessee and promote sustainable agriculture by:
- Supporting Farmers’ Markets: Encouraging the establishment of farmers’ markets in underserved areas and providing direct channels for local farmers to sell their produce, fostering a stronger connection between consumers and producers.
